The 2015 Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ have been awarded the IIHS Top Safety Pick for the 2015 model year.  To earn the award, the FR-S and BRZ got “good” ratings in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints as well as an “acceptable” rating in the small overlap crash test.

The 2014 Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ also earned the IIHS top safety pick, but only on models manufactured after December 2013, when the cars were upfitted with energy absorbing foam (adds weight take it out) was added to the left knee bolster and a “structural change” was made.  Both of these changes were made  specifically for the small overlap test to let the cars qualify for the Top Safety Pick award.

Now let’s reflect on the strange beauty of violence and the perverse joy we get in watching elegance defiled.

  1. I bought the 2015 White Limited. Very cool Car, but why the US can’t get some friggn cool ass colors on these cars pisses me off. White is Bad ass, but they have to come out with a Corvette Yellow, Rustic Orange, A sharp Green, etc, The Japs know how to do it right, Get on the ball with this shit and start spraying these up with some Bad Ass Colors…..The hyper Blue which is my favorite color all around I only dig on the WRX, not sure about the BRZ. I will have to see it up close, but Dealer told me I could trade mine in straight up if I wanted for the Hyper Blue BRZ. hmmmmmmmm…..
